10. Lausitz Café - "Achieve more together - your commitment is priceless!"
The Lausitz Café is an entertaining and regularly recurring series of events, which this time is carried out in cooperation with the SNL (Social Network Lausitz) . Together we would like to discuss specific questions with you about commitment and volunteering .
In 2024 we want to take the event series to the entire Görlitz district and invite you on October 10th. into the Rietschen cinema café .
Questions:
Fresh wind
Tobi from Berlin is moving to Upper Lusatia with his partner. Both had many hobbies in Berlin, but they often felt lonely and anonymous among the many people. That should now change, the two would like to get involved in their new hometown. However, it is not that easy to get information.
How can information about local associations/initiatives be made easily accessible to newcomers? What other questions do Tobi and his partner have about arriving and what can help them when they arrive?
New old club members
Erwin is almost 65 years old. He can almost count the days he has until retirement on one hand. Erwin will soon have a lot of free time. His children and grandchildren live in Dresden, so he doesn't see them that often.
His old friend Torsten has been active in the railway club for years and asks him if he would like to join in too. Erwin doubts whether working in a club is right for him.
What options are there to make involvement in the club attractive to the soon-to-be retiree? What concerns might he have and how can they be addressed?
Club structures
Many established clubs in the region are struggling with a decline in membership. Demographic change shows that we have too many clubs/offers for too few committed people.
What options are there to slim down the small-scale club landscape and how can such a process succeed?
Say “thank you.”
Sabine and Uwe often support their elderly neighbor Heidi with everyday tasks that she can no longer manage alone due to her old age. The two also always help organize village festivals and take part in work assignments such as “Subbotniks”.
How can you make small, private commitment visible so that it is appreciated? How can the SNL be used to say “thank you” for the important commitment to neighborhood assistance or local history associations?
The offer is aimed at all citizens of the district of Görlitz and is free of charge. Catering is also provided so that nobody has to discuss hungry.
If you are curious and want to know what has already been discussed in past Lausitz cafés, you can get an overview on our Miroboard .
