11. Lausitz Café Perspectives in crafts – construction site for the future
How can craft structures in Saxon Lusatia be preserved and expanded for the future? What opportunities arise from structural change and how will the construction industry develop in the coming years?
The Lausitz Café is an entertaining discussion event where interested citizens, potential founders, small entrepreneurs and established companies can exchange ideas about the perspectives in the trades and find pragmatic solutions to the challenges in Lausitz.
In cooperation with the HWK Dresden's Self-employedLausitz project, we cordially invite you to the Konrad-Wachsmann-Haus in Niesky on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. Together we want to investigate questions about developments in the construction industry.

Why is it worth being there?
Lusatian craftsmanship faces a variety of challenges that often cannot be overcome alone. There needs to be an exchange of experiences as well as individual advice.
Approximately 31% of new business founders in the 1990s are already aged 55 or older. This means that these companies will have to deal with the handover of their life's work within the next decade. Handing over a business within your own family is becoming increasingly rare. The handover of the business does not always have to be successful on the first attempt. That's why today it takes significantly more time and effective measures, not only to hand over the business, but above all to pass on the know-how.
In order to make the handover successful, you need young people with ideas and the willingness to start a business. Structural change and economic development offer opportunities for career paths in the skilled trades, especially in rural Lusatia.
We look forward to your participation and an active exchange. If you can't be there this time, please contact us for an individual discussion.
The offer is aimed at all citizens of the district of Görlitz and is free of charge. Catering is also provided so that nobody has to discuss hungry.
If you are curious and want to know what has already been discussed in past Lausitz cafés, you can get an overview on our Miroboard .
